Dear WCA Community,

We are happy to announce that Kevin Hays will become the new Leader of the WCA Major Championship Team (WMCT). Kevin was already working as a Member of the WMCT.

Kevin was selected by the WCA Board and approved in a vote, as described in Section 5 of our Motion about WCA Committees and Teams. This appointment is effective as of September 3, 2026.

We thank Rubén López de Juan, who will remain as a Senior Member of WMCT, for the work he has done as the Leader, and wish Kevin the best of luck in fulfilling his new duties.
