Information

--

Welcome to the fourth Swedish edition of Vardagscubing, this time in Uppsala! The competition has a very special format, where each competitor has a total of 21 minutes of solving time to complete all their solves, and the competitor gets to choose which events to spend their time on. Note, however, that each competitor this time can choose a maximum of five (5) events to compete in. The competition, which this time takes place on a Tuesday, lasts only roughly 3 hours.

Please read through all the tabs on this page (especially "Vardagscubing") so you don't miss any important information.

N.B.: If you register for either 3x3x3 FMC or 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, you can only compete in that particular event and not compete in any other event at the competition.

Vardagscubing

Vardagscubing (Workday cubing)

The idea is that these should be a shorter competition on a workday (this time around three hours), where the participants can compete in any events they want. In order for the competition not to take all night, the participants therefore have 21 minutes (cumulative, meaning in total solve time) to make all attempts in the events they want to compete in. If a participant, for example, complete five solves in 3x3x3 in 20 seconds each, that participant has then used up 1:40, which means that the participant has 19:20 left to do solves in other events.

Important information

  • Sign up for the five (5) events (at most) where you think you will compete. However, it is allowed to change these events at a later time (through the entry form, or by contacting the organizing team). Alternatively, you can simply announce this at the competition venue, as it will be permitted to change events on site at this particular competition.
  • It is mandatory to help out in the group you do not compete in. Otherwise, the competition's system does not work where the entire competition is completed in two equal-sized groups. Feel free to ask the organizer or delegate of the competition if you have questions about how to judge for example.
  • How do I keep track of how much time I have left? All participants will receive an email a couple of days before the competition with access to a spreadsheet (Google Sheets) where you can enter your solve times so that the document automatically calculates how much time you have left. Everyone is strongly advised to use this to ensure you don't go over the time limit, whereupon all subsequent solves will be DNFed.
  • Can I compete in, for example, either 3x3x3 FMC or 3x3x3 Multi-Blind and combine it with other events? No, if you choose to compete in one of these two events, this will be the only event you can compete in at the competition . If you skip these two events, you are welcome to register for at most five (5) other events of your choice if you like.

SveKub

This competition is organized together with SveKub.

As a member of SveKub, you always have a 25% discount on competitions. The membership is free, but is only available for Swedish citizens.
Read more about becoming a member on our website or register right away.

To get the discount, you simply need to be registered as a SveKub member. After that, you register as normal and we will verify which competitors are members and which are not.
You will pay the full price to begin with, but we will refund 25% when reviewing the registration (approving it or moving it to the waiting list).
In the future, we hope to have a slightly more convenient system, but the current registration system can not have different registration fees for different people.

Do you also want to organize a competition?

You can also organize a competition in your city! The only requirement is that you know a venue that would be suitable for a competition. It can be anything from canteens, sport halls, community centers and club or meeting rooms. You decide for how long the competition should run, anything from a couple of hours on a weekday to an entire weekend is a possibility. After that, SveKub can help with what you can't or don't want to do yourself, such as a competition schedule, budget and website. More information about and how to organize a competition is available here.

Viktig info

From there, use the local traffic information listed below. Remember that members of SveKub travel with up to 10% discount with SJ, more information is available on Sverok's website.

With local traffic

From Uppsala central station there are two main options for getting to the competition venue by public transport (travel time about 15 minutes, in both cases get off at the "Regins väg" stop, 100 meters from the competition venue):

  • Recommended: Regional bus 110 or 115 from Uppsala central station in the direction of Storvreta. Departs every quarter during rush hour, usually minutes :10, :25, :40 and :55.
  • Alternatively: City bus 2 from Vaksala Torg (roughly six minutes' walk from Uppsala central station) in the direction of Gamla Uppsala. Departs roughly every 10 minutes during rush hour.

On the way back from the competition, it is easiest to just get on the bus out of 2, 110 or 115 that departs first. In the evening, city bus 2 departs every 15 minutes, and a regional bus (110 or 115) every 30 minutes.

The single ticket for UL's buses in Uppsala county is easiest and cheapest to buy via their app (alternatively slightly more expensive using a credit card on board the bus, contactless). Note, however, that there are combination tickets for those of you who choose to travel from Stockholm county with SL commuter trains or from Gävleborg county with Mälartåg (with connection to UL's buses in Uppsala). These are most easily purchased in either county transport company's app.
