Information

NOTE: This event comprises two separate competitions, the other one is on Saturday. Please note that each participant can only compete on one of the two days.

Participants have to bring their own cube for the event.

  • Make sure you will be available at the venue at least 15 minutes before your event starts. You won't be allowed to participate in an event under any circumstances if you reach late.
  • If you're participating in a WCA competition for first time or not aware of competition rules, make sure that you attend the tutorial session.
  • If you're participating in a WCA competition for first time, please bring your goverment ID card for verification.
  • All the participants are requested to volunteer in the competition and every participant (except newcomers) will be assigned to a particular event they have to either judge, scramble, etc for the group/event.

You will only be allowed to compete in one of the Series competitions!
There is a competitor limit of 50 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is ₹1,000 (Indian Rupee).
Registration fees won't be refunded under any circumstance.

No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.

How to Register if you are a First Time Participant :

Step 2 - Register for the competition by browsing to the Studio 21 Open Sunday 2023 page and clicking on the Register tab on the left hand side of the page.
You can select the events in which you want to participate in this tab and hit on Register.
Make sure you select the exact number of events in which you want to participate accordingly in the next step.

For those of you new to cubing, WELCOME!

We wanted to let you know this event is perfectly fine for cubers of ANY age and experience. We just ask you know a couple things before coming to compete...

FAQs

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?
A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete. This means you should bring your own cube.

Q: What is the normal age of competitors at these events?
A: All ages are welcome, but in general competitors are between 10 and 20 years old. Don't let this stop you though, everyone can and should cube!

Q: How do I find results?
A: All results are posted on the WCA page within a week after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to https://live.worldcubeassociation.org to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about upcoming rounds of events. Remember, the results are entered by a human so please be patient if you do not see your results immediately.

Q: Are there age divisions?
A: Nope! All competitors compete together.

Q: I want to attend, or I have friends/family who want to attend, but not compete. Do they need to pay as well?
A: No. All spectators are free to view the competition at no cost. There is payment only to compete. But in some cases, venue will be having restriction to allow spectators depending on the competition.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?
A: HECK YES! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

From the New Delhi Railway Station to Dwarka Sector 21:

Metro: The Delhi Metro would be the most convenient way to travel from New Delhi Railway Station to Dwarka Sector 21. The Airport Express Line of the Delhi Metro directly connects the New Delhi Railway Station to Dwarka Sector 21.

Cab: You can also hire a cab (like Ola or Uber) which would be more direct but likely costlier.

From Indira Gandhi International Airport to Dwarka Sector 21:

Metro: The Airport Express Line of the Delhi Metro directly connects the airport to Dwarka Sector 21.

Cab: Hiring a cab from the airport is another convenient option.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
