Jokaisen kilpailijan pitää tuntea ja ymmärtää WCA:n säännöt ennen kilpailuun osallistumista.
WCA:n kilpailun suomenkieliset säännöt löydät täältä. Lue artiklat 3 ja A erityisen tarkasti.

Ennen kilpailua, rekisteröinnin jälkeen, järjestetään kilpailu- ja tuomarointiopastus, johon jokaisen kilpailijan tulisi osallistua.

Tärkeimpänä:
* Salamavalon käyttö kuvatessa on kielletty
* Yleisön on pysyttävä ainakin 1,5 metrin päässä ratkaisupaikoista
* Ratkaisujen kuvaaminen on sallittua kunhan kameran näyttö on joko pois päältä tai suunnattu kilpailijasta poispäin
* Perehdy erityyppisiin rangaistuksiin
* Jos et ole varma rangaistuksesta, kutsu delegaatti paikalle
* Jos uskot kilpailijan ansaitsevan ylimääräisen yrityksen, kutsu delegaatti paikalle
* Älä pyöritä kuutioita tai käytä puhelinta tuomaroidessa
* Älä koske muilta kilpailijoilta irronneisiin paloihin
* Pidä huoli siitä, että aika on kirjoitettu tuloskorttiin selvästi
* Älä unohda laittaa kilpailunumeroasi tuloskorttiin joka yrityksen jälkeen kun olet tarkastanut että aika on kirjoitettu oikein

Each competitor must be familiar with and understand the WCA Regulations before the competition.
The WCA regulations are available here. Pay especially close attention to articles 3 and A.

Most importantly:
* Flash photography is not permitted
* The audience must stay at least 1.5 meters away from the solving stations
* You are allowed to film your attempts as long as the camera's screen is either off or pointed away from you
* Be familiar with the different types of penalties
* If you unsure of the penalty, ask for a delegate
* If you believe the competitor deserves an extra attempt, ask for a delegate
* Do not cube or use your phone as a judge
* Do not touch popped pieces of other competitors
* Make sure that the time written down is not ambiguous in any way
* Don't forget to sign your attempts after verifying that the time is written correctly

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
