How to register

It is not possible to compete, if you have not registered online! If your name appears here, then you have successfully registered. It is not possible to register for the competition on the day itself!
The registration closes on the 19th of October, at 23:59 (Swedish time), or when the competitor limit has been reached.
Follow the steps below to get your registration accepted:

  • You will first need to create a WCA account (if you don't have a WCA-account already).
  • Now register for the competition here.
  • You will then receive an email, which will be sent to the email address connected to your WCA account. Please note the first email you receive does not mean you have been accepted yet!
  • You now have to pay the registration fee of 35€. This will be done on the WCA site, via Stripe, on the same page as you registered (here).
  • You have now completed all the steps, you now just need to wait! It will take a maximum of 48 hours to get accepted (often this is much faster). If you don’t see your name here after 48 hours, then please contact the organizers (not the Delegate, unless he is listed as one of the organizers).

If you do not follow all these points, your registration will not get accepted.
If you can no longer attend the competition, please send us an email, and tell us. You will also get a refund of 50% of the registration fee, if you let us know before registration closes!
You will only be allowed to change the events you are competing in until the registration closes (October 19th)!
Remember to check your email, there will be an email sent out a few days before the competition will take place. It will contain some more detailed information about the competition.

If you are staff for this competition (or want to apply), some different rules apply. Please read the "Staff" tab.

We will be using two different stages for this competition! We will use a Main stage and a Side stage. You can check the Events tab for an overview of which event will be held where.

All competitors must have read the WCA Regulations.

You must be registered for this competition online in order to compete! You can register here. Your registration is complete, when you see your name among the other competitors (here).

New competitors must bring a valid identification card, to confirm their identity at the competition. A passport is good example since it shows your date of birth, and country of representation.

No flash photography in the entire venue! Flash is distracting to the competitors. However pictures without the use of flash are allowed.

All spectators must remain at least 1,5 meters away from every solving station.

When a round is in progress, then all competitors in the current group must wait in the competitor waiting area, until they get called up to solve.

You only need to be present, when you have to compete, in the events you are registered for! We recommend that you are present half an hour to an hour before your first event, since the schedule might change. If you can only be present one of the days, then you can only compete in the events on the given date. If you would like, you can write which day(s) you are coming, in the note, when you sign up for the competition.

When we approach the competition date, you will receive an email. It will contain some changes that might have happened. It will also contain more ‘up to date’ information, which you might need.

Flight: The closest airport to the venue is Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, served by both low-cost and classic airlines. Generally, the easiest way to get to Vårgårda from the airport is taking a bus into Gothenburg city center, and then taking one of the local trains to Vårgårda. Buying the cheapest ticket from Gothenburg Airport to Vårgårda is slightly complicated, so follow these steps closely.

To begin with, you will want to plan your trip from the airport to Vårgårda before you arrive at the airport. Use: https://www.vasttrafik.se/ to plan your trip. Enter "Landvetter Airport" as your starting point and "Vårgårda station" as your destination. It is very important that you enter "Landvetter Resecentrum" as a station you will be travelling via under the more options tab. Otherwise, you will be shown "Flygbussarna" departures, which are very expensive. Remember to check the travel details for your journey, since your ticket is also not valid on the trains operated by "SJ".

Then, download the "Västtrafik" app, available for iOS and Android. When you are ready to buy your ticket (which should be done not more than 30 minutes before leaving entering your first bus), enter "Landvetter Resecentrum" as your starting point and "Vårgårda station" as your destination. Your ticket will cost 121 SEK for adults and 91 SEK for youth under 20 years old. Your ticket will be valid in all zones necessary for your journey.

We know that this is very complicated for a foreigner. If you have a flight arriving at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, feel free to send your travel details to the organisation team. We will help you with planning your journey and giving support in buying a ticket. Travel time from the airport to Vårgårda is between 1,5 - 2 hours.

Train: Vårgårda train station is located 1,4 kilometers from the venue, covered by both local and regional trains as well as the local buses operated by "Västtrafik". To find and buy train tickets within Sweden, as well as from Copenhagen and Oslo area, use www.sj.se For local travel within the western parts of Sweden, check www.vasttrafik.se The best walking options from Vårgårda station to Tångahallen are shown below using this link: http://bit.ly/2yHSt3t

Car: The venue is easily accesible by car and is located in the middle of the Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen greater areas. There are a lot of parking space at the event center where the competition is held, which is all free of charge. Use this link to plan your journey to the venue: http://bit.ly/2IqE0IE

There are a few supermarkets in the city center, with the closest one being Netto, right by the train station. Willys and Ica also have supermarkets in the city center, north of the train station. However, it is approximately 1,5 kilometers from the venue to the closest supermarket, which is why we have made special arrangements for food at the venue.

Breakfast Competitors as well as guests can order a breakfast for Saturday and Sunday morning. It will be served during the hour before the first event during both days, in the main hall of the competition. The cost is 50 SEK per day and will include a "hostel standard" breakfast with some bread, toppings, yoghurt, sour milk, cereals, fruit, juice, coffee, tea and maybe even more. This breakfast must be ordered and paid in advance at the "Nordic Championship Fee" form which can be found here: https://www.formget.com/app/form/share/DCNE-301835

Lunch Competitors and guests will also be able to book a dinner during Friday and a lunch during Saturday and Sunday. It will cost 80 SEK per day and include a full meal including soft drinks and coffee / tea. These meals must also be booked and paid in advance using the same form: https://www.formget.com/app/form/share/DCNE-301835 Remember to note in the extra information field if you have any allergies or if you want a vegetarian option.

Café The event center will open up a café at the venue during all the competition days. They will be selling burgers, hot dogs, sandwhiches, sweets as well as hot and cold drinks. Only SEK or credit card payment is accepted in the café.

The main stage of the competition will be placed in the big indoor football field called "Tångahallen", located at "Tånga Hed" activity center outside Vårgårda. All tables and chairs for warm-up and audience will be located in the same hall as the main stage. Close to the main hall, we will have the side stage in the lobby of the bowling hall.

Those who has booked sleeping at the venue will sleep in the main hall. Toilets and showers is available in the locker rooms in the lobby of the venue. The breakfast and lunch for those who booked these meals will also be served in the main hall.
