Masskara Speedcubing Relay Cup

Rules and Regulations
* The competition format is a simple by turns format where we pick out a name from a container to see who goes first.

  • Each competitor will solve a single 3x3 cube, one after another.

  • Standard WCA penalties (e.g. misalignment, timer stops/starts) apply for the solves.

  • The members solve one 3x3x3 cube one after the other. Thus, there are 3 timers, 3 cubes and 3 competitors on the table.

  • The second and third timers must be started only when the previous member has finished their solve and has put back the 2 hands on the timers.

  • Inspection time applies to all 3 members at the same time.

  • After 12 seconds of inspection, all 3 members of the same team must release their own cube on the mat, hold their two hands on the timers.

  • When the first solver is cubing, the second and third ones must hold their 2 hands on their timers. Same rule for the third solver while the second is solving their cube. Penalty: DNF.

  • The second and third team members may continue inspecting while their teammate(s) are solving the cube, but must do so with their hands remaining on the timer.

  • The winning team will be the team with the lowest total time.

  • This is an unofficial team event, no results will be stored in the WCA database.

  • As this is an experimental format, the judges for this event may exercise discretion in the case of disagreements and rule interpretation - their decision will be final.

All Competitors
● Please wear your face masks and practice social distancing all throughout the event venue. It is very encouraged to bring your own hand sanitizers and to regularly sanitize.
● Before the competition starts, your name will be called and you will be given a grouping/officiating card which indicates when you will be needed to judge, scramble, and participate in your chosen event.
● You are required to bring your own pen and stopwatch (the timer app on your smartphone will do) to avoid contact with surfaces for officiating/judging purposes. As per WCA Regulation 1e2, you are obliged to officiate/judge upon being called. Failure in doing such duties will result in your disqualification from the competition at the discretion of a WCA delegate.

New Competitors
● For first timers, it is highly encouraged to familiarize yourself with the WCA Regulations.
● To accustom yourself even more with how WCA competitions work, you are required to read the WCA First-time Competitor Guide and/or watch this Competitor Tutorial by WCA Senior Delegate, Kit Clement.

● If you are still confused as to what the procedures are, there will be a live demonstration/tutorial before the competition starts.
● Have fun and don't hesitate to ask questions to the Delegate and Event Organizers.
