WCA Competition Safety Policy and the Icelandic Safety Regulations act as the foundation for our preventative work.

COVID SPEED-TEST FROM A LICENSED TESTING SITE IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY
These can be ordered online for free at any of these three websites:
https://heilsuvera.is
https://testcovid.is
https://hradprof.is

I advise you book your testing as soon as possible to ensure you get your speed-test the evening before the competition or early morning of the first day of the competition. (They are valid for 48 hours).

Some tips on booking your speed-test:

Check which speed-test location is most convenient for you. The testing facility at Kleppsmýrarvegi 8 is one of the least busy locations available. You can book a test there via https://hradprof.is
If you live in the southern part of the capital area then the testing facilities in Hafnafjörður might be a good choice. You can book a test there via https://testcovid.is

Please note that self-administered (or "home-tests") are not considered valid. You must get your testing done at a licensed location (such as those listed on the websites)

Lastly, if you have any questions or comments regarding COVID safety, prevention and protocol then please contact Pétur Óskarsson through +354-897-5488. He will be happy to help!

The following restrictions will be in effect:
* Everyone with signs of illness will of course stay at home.
* The distance between competitors should at all times be at least one meter and we will spread out as much as possible.
* Face masks will be mandatory in the competition venue.
* Hand sanitizer will be available during the entire competition. We will wash and sanitize our hands often, aswell as disinfect puzzles before each round.
* We will not borrow puzzles from each other.
* All competitors must bring their own pen. Feel free to bring several, and don't borrow from each other.
* If you as a competitor wish, you have the right to for example bring your own cube cover, and to disinfect the competing surface before your attempts.

Some changes regarding judges and runners will be implemented, to minimize contact points. This includes:
* All rounds will be using fixed seating, with one competing station per table.
* The judge will be seated at the short side of the table, at least 1 meter away from the competitor.
* The competitor should be the only person touching the timer during a round. This means that the competitor will be the one starting and resetting the timer. It should be noted that it is still the judge’s responsibility that this is carried out.
* After the attempt, the competitor removes the timer from the stackmat, and turns it so that the judge can read the time without approaching the competitor.
* Neither judges nor runners should come in contact with the puzzles. This means that the competitor will be the one putting the cube into the cover after the attempt, and the judge should not touch the puzzle unless necessary to determine whether or not the puzzle is solved.
* The judge should raise their hand to alert a runner, instead of raising the cube cover.
This process is demonstrated in this video (activate subtitles).

Good luck and thanks for helping us prevent the spread of COVID!

All competitors must have read the WCA Regulations.
We will have a quick run down before the first event, and explain how to compete and judge. There will be a demonstration by some of our most experienced cubers. You can find out when this will happen in the schedule tab.

New competitors must bring a valid identification card, to confirm their identity at the competition. A passport is good example since it shows your date of birth, and country of representation.

You are expected to help during the competition. For each event you participate in, you will then need to judge at least one other group in the same event. If you see an empty spot for a judge at a solving station, please take it! This helps the competition run a lot smoother!

Every time there is blindfolded event, there has to be complete silence! It requires a lot of concentration, so please be silent. If you need to talk or make noise, please leave the venue room where people are solving to do so.

No flash photography in the entire venue! Flash is distracting to the competitors. However pictures without the use of flash are allowed.

You are allowed to film your official attempt, as long as the camera's screen is either off or is out of sight.

All spectators must remain at least 1,5 meters away from every solving station.

When a round is in progress, then all competitors in the current group must wait in the competitor waiting area, until they get called up to solve.

You are not allowed to talk about the scrambles until the round is done! Otherwise, you might get disqualified.

You only need to be present, when you have to compete, in the events you are registered for! We recommend that you are present half an hour to an hour before your first event, since the schedule might change. If you can only be present one of the days, then you can only compete in the events on the given date..

When we approach the competition date, you will receive an email. It will contain some changes that might have happened. It will also contain more ‘up to date’ information, which you might need.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all events and have been generously provided by thecubicle. Please note that only competitors representing Iceland are eligible.

They will be in the form of gift cards to their store and will be awarded after the competition ends.
