For first-time competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules. Note that this video is fairly old and some information may be outdated.

In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition.

Finally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. This video gives a basic overview of how to judge, and does include more up-to-date information.

For all competitors

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for.

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

Room Details: The competition will be held in the Big Gym. Doors are on the right side of the lobby.

Parking: Go up the driveway and park in the lot behind the building. Enter through the glass doors.

Snacks: Breakfast items, snacks and drinks will be for sale in the lobby.

Lunch: There are many options for lunch within a few miles of the venue. Aldi and Walgreens are across the street.

Hotels: Use your favorite travel site to find the best deals. Look for hotels downtown or near the intersection of 44 and Hampton or along highway 55 south of the venue.

Travel: The nearest major is St. Louis Lambert International Airport. 25 minutes from the venue.

There is a sport stacking competition at the same location on Sunday, November 6.
This competition is open to all ages and levels of stackers.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
