Information

CubingZA is excited to announce the first Polokwane competition of 2024!
This competition has a focus on holding popular events to give newer competitors an easy oppurtunity to start competing with the rest of the South African cubing community.
The competition is open to anyone who knows how to solve a cube! Whether you take 20 seconds or 5 minutes to solve the 3x3 we will be happy to have you!

Newcomers and returners

This competition will recognise both a newcomer and experienced competitor podium across all the events. Be sure to stick around for the chance to meet and compete with other cubers!

ALL NEW COMPETITORS

If this is your first time competing, or the first time your child or ward is competing, please ensure to bring with ID (card, book, passport, birth certificate) so that we can verify that the name is spelled correctly, the Date of Birth is correct, and the Nationality is correct.
Please also ensure you have all the puzzles you need to compete - we do not supply puzzles for competitors. You are welcome to ask other competitors if you can borrow their puzzle for a certain event, but there is no guarantee. If you need a puzzle before the competition, check out www.speedcubes.co.za, www.cubeco.co.za, or https://cubestuff.co.za/ to order your puzzles before the comp.

Volunteers

We will require volunteers to support with running, judging and scrambling on the day. We will demonstrate the process for these duties during the new competitor tutorial, and encourage everyone to get involved. You also do not have to be a competitor to volunteer! If you are a parent, family member, or friend of a competitor, please do not hesitate to volunteer if you would like to help the competition run smoothly.

About CubingZA

Competitions in South Africa have exploded since the end of COVID, and interest is only getting stronger. CubingZA is a volunteer organisation made up of delegates and community members who have come together to try and ensure that we can sustainably run regular competitions all across the country.

If you'd be interested in helping out, please get in touch. We are particularly looking for help with communications, and graphic design.
