Information

This competition is the fourth iteration of the Nepali National Championship and is open to competitors of all nationalities. However, only Nepalese participants will be eligible for prizes and titles.

यो प्रतियोगिता नेपाली राष्ट्रिय प्रतिस्पर्धाको चौथो शृङ्खला हो र यो सबै राष्ट्रियताको प्रतियोगीका लागि खुला छ। तर उपाधि तथा पुरस्कार प्राप्त गर्न नेपाली प्रतियोगी मात्रै योग्य हुने छन्।

There is a competitor limit of 200 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is Rs.300 (Nepalese Rupee).
Registration fees won't be refunded under any circumstance.
On the spot registrations will be accepted with a base registration fee of Rs.400 (Nepalese Rupee).

Each Additional Event: Rs. 75

The base registration is inclusive of one event.

Example:
If you are taking part in five events, your registration fee will include

  1. For Online Registrants:
    Rs. 300 (Base Registration)
    4 x Rs. 75 (Additional Events)
    Total= Rs. 600

  2. For On-The-Spot Registrants:
    Rs. 400 (Base Registration)
    4 x Rs. 75 (Additional Events)
    Total= Rs. 700

Payment Guidelines:
1. Participants must compulsorily pay their registration fee before competing.
2. Registrants are encouraged to pay their registration fee before the day of the competition either in a meetup or by meeting any of the organizers personally.
3. On mutual understanding, individuals may also pay registration fees on behalf of other registrants.
4. If a participant is unable to make it to the venue within the given time, they must either pay their registration fee prior to the day of the competition or ask another person to pay on their behalf.

For those of you new to cubing, WELCOME!

We wanted to let you know this event is perfectly fine for cubers of ANY age and experience. We just ask you know a couple things before coming to compete...

First, please be familiar with the WCA Regulations, found here:

We have a video made specifically for new cubers, just to show them the basics of competing. This video will explain most of what any cuber competing for the first time will need to know.

FAQs

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?
A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete. This means you should bring your own cube.

Q: What is the normal age of competitors at these events?
A: All ages are welcome, but in general competitors are between 10 and 20 years old. Don't let this stop you though, everyone can and should cube!

Q: How do I find results?
A: All results are posted on the WCA page within a week after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to Cubecomps.com to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about upcoming rounds of events. Remember, the results are entered by a human so please be patient if you do not see your results immediately.

Q: Are there age divisions?
A: Nope! All competitors compete together.

Q: I want to attend, or I have friends/family who want to attend, but not compete. Do they need to pay as well?
A: No. All spectators are free to view the competition at no cost. There is payment only to compete. But in some cases, venue will be having restriction to allow spectators depending on the competition.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?
A: HECK YES! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

By Air

The nearest airport, Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), is 7.5 kilometers away from the venue. Please contact the organizers for additional information.

By Public Transportation

There are four main routes to reach the venue by public transport. Please make your way to one of the following major bus stops in Kathmandu Valley.

  1. Ratnapark
  2. Lagankhel
  3. Koteshwor
  4. Ekantakuna

Upon reaching one of the above bus stops, please get on either public bus, micro-van or tempo that passes by Jawlakhel. After that, drop off near the Jawlakhel Zoo. After walking 2-3 minutes towards Pulchowk, you will see the main gate of St. Xavier's School on your left.

By Online Taxi/Ride-Sharing Applications

  1. Online Taxi: Please download the Sarathi app on your phone.
  2. Ride-Sharing Apps: Please download the Pathao or Tootle app on your phone. They are the most convenient form of travel in Kathmandu Valley at a reasonable rate. However, please keep in mind that this option is only available if you are travelling alone.

Map

Please ensure that you check the location of the venue on Google Maps prior to the date of the competition. If you require offline map services during your travel, please download maps.me on your phone and save an offline map of the Central Development Region.

Accomodation

Please book a room near the venue via booking.com, if required.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
