New idea for competition: Team Relay from 2x2 to 7x7

Hello; I want to propose a new official event to be added specifically to the races as the continental and world championships. A relay race starting from the cube two by two and ending with a seven by seven cube, solving an order of magnitude the other four. This race would be for nations and not only the various teams of friends. Example for the United States. 2x2 Anthony Brooks 3x3 Rowe Hessler 4x4 Dan Cohen 5x5 Michael Gottlieb 6x6 Kevin Hays 7x7 Myles Casanas Maybe you could also make a "Dream Team" of the best: example 2x2 Cameron Stollery 3x3 Feliks Zemdegs 4x4 Giovanni Contardi 5x5 Dan Cohen 6x6 Kevin Hays 7x7 Michal Halckzuk Obviously, according to members of the races you can make the team .. . So the day of the race and not too early Thank you and sorry for my bad English Ciancotti Simone Petrucci

Are you serious?! This would surely be fun to have during an evening at worlds as unofficial event but your idea fails in qualifying as official event in so many ways that I won't even start listing some. PS: Are you aware that this can of course be done at a competition (basically like everything else) without making it an unofficial event?

Maybe I'll be an idiot, I always played sports like swimming and triathlon, and these things exist peacefully. I can not see too much trouble to add this event among others. Explain why you think it is a good thing

Do you read the forums ? Reasons against relays being official have already be given a zillion times... I'll give you only one: the lack of balance. In triathlon, the relative lengths of the three events have been carefully studied so that they are roughly of equal importance. In a 2-7 cube relay this is definitely not the case, the bigger the cube is the more important it is to get a good result, and the 2^3 is really negligible in comparison of the biggest ones. In your examples above, try to replace Anthony and Cameron by random noobs and you'll still get very fast teams.

Here what comes to my mind at first: - how to measure? Times mostly > 10 minutes! - team event -> unconvenient with database - hard to organize during competitions (6 people around one timer?!) - impossible to judge properly (proper transit from one puzzle to next puzzle?) - hard to participate (as you need 5 other people for a team!) - completely imballanced (as TMOY pointed out already) - .... I could surely find more arguments. I still can't believe you're seriously suggesting this as official event while this is so obviously a random fun event and while more reasonable events like MirrorBlocks, TeamBLD, etc. are already rejected.
