A map with competitions

My name is Arvid Skarrie, from Sweden. I had an idea for Svekub's website about a map, with dots or pins for competitions, and *click*, you had the webaddress for the competitions. You could also have pins in a different colour for competitions in a planning-level, with a link to the forum where it was discussed. As you've probably understood, I thought that it could be an idea for the whole WCA with a map you could zoom in to a scale 1:1 000 000 or larger. Since I haven't got an idea of how to do it, I wonder if it's a good idea, and of some one got the skill and will to do it. I don't think taking care of it once created is hard. Well?

Is this[/url:190ttdm2] not good enough?

That it doesn't work in Opera as well makes me feel better about it not working in IE... you can't design websites for just one browser!

Works fine in my Opera. Can you tell more details about how it doesn't work?
Works fine in my Opera. It could be that I'm running an older version of Opera... *upgrades*... yep, that fixed it. However, not working in IE still means that it doesn't work for ~70% of people on the internet.

Also, would there be any way to get a website with a smaller URL (but one that is still clearly cubing-related) and redirect to this website? Maybe the main page of speedcubing.com could redirect here one day? The current URL is a bit long to type.

There could be yeah. I have f2l.org but it's "f2l", not anything common with all kinds of twistypuzzles :) I was thinking of having it pointing to the WCA website, 'cause I agree it's a bit long :)

I think that something like wca.f2l.org could be fun even though it refers to a step from a method ;)
gagou9 (2015-03-17 00:33:36 +0000)
yeah both are redirecting to the wca at the moment, but I bet the DNS didn't reach you yet (there wasn't any A record till a few minutes ago)

It works, nice!
