Article G

In the article about speedsolving, Article A, there is specific mention of stopping the timer with both hands. Flat and palms down. I assumed that this regulation applied to Article G as well, but it does not state anywhere in there about the end of the solve. My best friend is learning how to do Magic and he has begun using his wrists to stop the timer, which, as I know it, is illegal. Thanks for clearing this up Ron (when you do) Craig

Hi Craig, Article G starts with [quote:34nj5rtm]See Article A.[/quote:34nj5rtm] So everything in Article A also applies to Magic, unless overruled by Article G. About stopping the timer. The change for 2006v2 is that you do not need to stop with your fingers anymore and that some violations do not lead to a DNF, but to a 2 second penalty. You still need to stop with your hands. Stopping with full wrists does not include parts of the hands, so that would indeed lead to a penalty of 2 seconds. Ron

He should channel his anger into a passionate fury of practice time.
