John Tamanas won the Baltimore Spring competition 2010 with an average of 11.46 seconds. Timothy Sun finished second (11.81) and Tim Reynolds finished third (12.49).

Willian Fidêncio won the Colégio Cidade Open 2010 with an average of 15.91 seconds. Renan Mondini Cerpe finished second (16.80) and Aryan Carlos Gomes Das Dores finished third (18.02).

Mats Valk won the German Open 2010 with an average of 10.47 seconds. Erik Akkersdijk finished second (11.64) and Shotaro Makisumi finished third (12.52).

All competitions starting today (April 14, 2010) must use this new version of the regulations.

Most important changes are:
= Preferred format for Megaminx is now 'Average of 5'.

Other changes for competitors:
= Stricter rules for timer malfunctions. Timer shows 0.01 - 0.05: extra attempt (unless intentional by competitor). Timer shows 0.06 or higher: DNF (unless reproducible malfunctioning).
= Puzzles with textures or painted colours are now accepted.
= Blindfolded: Competitors must bring their own blindfold.
= Fewest moves: Solutions maximum 80 moves and/or rotations.
= Magic: No practice solves on timer.

Other changes for competition organisers:
= WCA delegate is now responsible for providing the scrambles.
= Improved scramble programs.
= At least 25% of competitors must not proceed to round.

Alejandro Aguado Barahona won the Zaragoza Open 2010 with an average of 12.48 seconds. Shotaro Makisumi finished second (12.73) and Rodrigo Septién Rodríguez finished third (14.29).

Che-Ting Chu won the Taiwan Spring Open 2010 with an average of 12.45 seconds. Jie-Ju Chen finished second (12.63) and Zhen-Chian Hong finished third (12.87).

Kanneti Sae Han won the French Championship 2010 with an average of 11.14 seconds. Edouard Chambon finished second (11.26) and Benjamin Sintes finished third (12.87).
