Accès au site de la compétition :

La Résidence Le California se trouve au 2 rue Jean Andréani, à Aix-en-Provence (13090).
Lien commercial : http://www.pacagest.fr/residences.php?idres=2

Competition's master rules :

  • Competitors must be aware of the WCA rules.
  • The public must not use flashes to take photos, and also don't be too close to the competitors in the process of solving ! (1,50m would be perfect)
  • Each competitor must be available to judge and/or scramble if necessary. Some penalties will be applicated for non-compliance with this rule.
  • As always, have a look on your belongings.
  • Please don't scream and not to disturb the competition (this is a student residence, people live there, and corridors resonate).

Is case of doubt, don't hesitate to ask Pierre Bouvier or Philippe Virouleau. If something is subject to change, announcements will be made to inform the competitors.

How to come :

You have to find the Résidence Le California, located on 2 rue Jean Andréani, at Aix-en-Provence (ZIP code : 13090).
Link : http://www.pacagest.fr/residences.php?idres=2

This is a little building located in front of the Campanile hostel called Aix Sud Pont de l’Arc, behind a little green gate and a wooded courtyard (you have to walk through this little garden). Entrance is located just above the California / Pacagest sign (just follow the Rubik's cubes !).
The place is on the ground floor, just in front of the front door. Follow the cubes ! ;)

You can park your car nearby this place, on a free parking, next to the La Nativité school set, also located on Jean Andréani road (200 meter away).

How to come :
* By plane : Marseille airport, then TER (regional train) or Taxi to Aix-en-Provence.
* By train (TGV) : Aix-en-Provence TGV railway station (18 kilometers away of the town), a shuttle (n°40) takes you to Aix-en-Provence roadstation (in the center) every 15-30 min, for many euros (4-5 I think). Then follow the indications below.
* From roadstation : by foot, you have to walk for about 20-25min. By bus, take the shuttle n°4 to Pôle d’Activités, and stop at the California stop (about 5-10min).
* From TER trainstation : join the roadstation, about 800 meters above, on the Boulevard des Belges road.
* By car :
- From Lyon/Avignon/Salon-de-Provence : highway A7 to Salon then highway A8 to Nice, exit n°30A Les Milles – Luynes, and then on the right on the fraffic circle, to Les Milles, then the first road on the right at the traffic light, to a second traffic circle and take the road on the right to Jean Andréani road.
- From Marseille : exit Les Milles (D9), turn on the right to Pont de l’Arc, then on left at the 3rd traffic circle.
- From Nice/Toulon : exit n°30 Pont de l’Arc, on the left at the traffic circle to Luynes, and at the 2nd traffic circle take the road to Les Milles, turn on the right, and then at the 3rd traffic circle on the right.

Housing :

The Campanile hotel (Aix Sud Pont de l’Arc) is directly in front of the competition place, you can book your room on booking.com, or follow the link above. This is the best option, but you can find another hostels in the center of the town (20-25min by foot to the competition place).

Instead of an hostel, you can book a AirBnB (cheaper than hostels).

Eating :

  • A Lidl (little market very cheap) is located at 3-4 minutes by foot, on the other side of the place (240 Chemin de la Beauvalle). When you go out the competition place, after the little yard, you're in the front of the Campanile hostel : turn on the left, then on the left a second time, and you will see the Lidl on the left side.
  • A McDonald’s is located at 15 minutes by foot, you have to take the same way as the Lidl, continue ahead, turn on the right below the bridge, then turn on the left on the traffic light direction Encagnane district. The McDonald's will be on the left side. Adress : 39 avenue Jean Giono.
  • There's also a Carrefour City, a tobacconist and a bakehouse at 10 minutes by foot at the middle distance to the McDonald’s (14 avenue Jean Giono), just take the way to the Lidl and continue ahead, then (at the end of the road) turn on the right below the bridge, and go ahead.
