WE HAVE REACHED THE COMPETITOR LIMIT FOR THIS COMPETITION****

If you register and pay, you will be added to the waiting list, and will be added if there are drop outs. If we don't have enough people drop out by August 20th, your registration fee will be refunded.

This being said, if you have registered and found out that you cannot make it, please contact us so that someone else can take your spot. 90% of your registration fee will be refunded as long as you contact us before Tuesday, August 20th.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING.

SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS COMPETITION:

Please read our "Lunch" tab for more information on what is being offered for food during Lunch. Please indicate in your registration comments whether you would like the pizza for lunch or not so we can plan accordingly.

FOR FIRST-TIME COMPETITORS:

There are multiple things a first-timer must know before competing. All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. There is a video here for the basic overview of the rules.

In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition to learn about the procedures for competing and judging.

ALL COMPETITORS:

When you arrive, there will be information around the room on both competing assignments and judging assignments. All competitors are expected to help at this competition. For each event you sign up for, you will be assigned to help out for just one group of that event. We kindly ask everyone to help out at this event which can include competitors, parents, and other guests.

We will provide a judging tutorial right after lunch, right before the start of the 3x3x3 speedsolving event. This will allow anyone with questions about how to judge to be properly prepared when they are expected to help. We hope that this system will fairly divide up the judging of the competition and make the competition run smoothly for all.

FAQ:

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?

A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete.

Q: What is the normal age of competitors at these events?

A: All ages are welcome, but in general competitors are between 12 and 20 years old. Don't let this stop you though, everyone can and should cube!

Q: What is the competition like?

A: Competitions are a bunch of tables where cubers like us get to sit and discuss our favorite thing, Cubes! Of course in addition there is competing, which will occupy one side of the competition hall, where you will see lots of timers flickering with contestants and new personal bests. This competition will have a break for lunch, and the competing is split up into groups, as to better organize who competes when. (Check the schedule tab and listen at the competition for more info on this.)

Q: Where do I find results?

A: All results are posted on the WCA page a couple of days after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to http://cubecomps.com/ to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about 2nd and 3rd rounds of events.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?

A: Make sure you pay your entrance fee in order to be placed on the registered list, which will also guarantee you a spot in the competition. If payment may be any issue, or you are not sure if you can attend, use the contact button to talk to us, and see if we can work out another payment strategy, or have you pay on arrival at the competition. No matter what your situation may be however, please register online. It is much easier for us to have you register now and pay later, then to have to input information at another time.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?

A: YES! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

There will be pizza provided by Green Mill during lunch. Each competitor will get 2 slices and additional slices will be available for $2 each.

No outside food is allowed in the venue, however food from Green Mill can be brought inside the room.

There is an 60 person competitor limit for this competition. Please register as soon as you can to ensure a spot.

We also have three Facebook groups for our Cubing Area. Minnesota Cubing Community, Iowa Cubing, and Wisconsin & Illinois Speedcubing. You can join one or all of these groups to stay updated with upcoming competitions in the area.

Thank you so much to TheCubicle.com for sponsoring this competition! Check out their store here.

For 1st/2nd/3rd they will be providing gift cards of $35/$25/$15 for 3x3 and $10/$7/$5 for other events.
